Arty Advice from us to you:
When creating, the DOING is the important bit.
Let me explain...
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the most important part of creating (in my opinion!) Is the act of creating, not planning what it will look iike in the end.
So my advice to you is...
When doing arts and crafts with kids, focus on the process rather than the outcome. Provide simple materials like coloured paper, stickers, and glue, then step back and allow them to explore their creativity without interruption.
Truth bomb 2: Kids know what to do already, it is instinctive to them.
Have you ever seen someone in creator mode? It is fascinating to watch. You see all sorts of things going on: exploration, discovery, trial and error, perseverance. And that's only scratching the surface. Art play has so many benefits, but most of all it is because we focus on the process of creating rather than making everyone do the same thing.
So next time you get the art stuff out, let your kids enjoy the process of using the materials to make something from their imagination.
Don’t worry about the end result.
They aren’t.
