*Fairy Party Package. This party is everything your fairy loving little artist could want. Kids are given fairy wings to decorate, and then a choice of 2 more fairy themed activities. This party also comes with the most beautiful fairy picnic set up from @yellowlemonpartyhire who's stunning set ups can be added to any of our parties.

Who says cleaning can't be fun?!

I made cleaning up after art class into a moment of creativity for myself.

Here's how!

1. I grab an old or preloved canvas (this one was started last year by my little one and never got finished - hence the huge orange splat of paint!)

2. I empty out the jars directly onto the canvas

3. Side note: I always add a bit of water to the paint so that it doesn't all get stuck inside the jar before I get home from my class. Which means that ... some are more watery than others.

4. I don't always know how much paint/water is in the jar which actually makes it more fun for me. It is a game of chance as well as an opportunity to do something creative.
So then I just start to play. I do what I feel like in the moment, there's no rules, no forward planning and no judgement. It's just art play. It's a great way to get a creative fix and also a reminder to myself that the doing is the most important part. Even if the doing is actually cleaning

5. Then once I've played around with the paints and had my moment I soak the jars, scrub any last remnants with an old bristly brush, rinse and reset

6. It's cleaning, but make it creative.

This is the story of how I was invited to do an art workshop at the library. I was so excited, I LOVE libraries!!

Anyway, so3mewhere in the creative process of designing the workshop I cemented another idea that had been coming in and out of consciousness for a while. Isn't it crazy when that happens?

It just goes to show how being creative sparks creativity and ignites the imagination. Which is what I always try to facilitate in my sessions- giving people the freedom to create opens them up to tha magic spot where your brain starts sparking new ideas and builds on the ideas you are currently working on. I love it!

Okay mums… truth time.
You love sensory play for your little one…
just not the fact that after all the prep they play with it for 3 minutes and you're left with the mess the cleanup. I get it. Which is why I'm doing sensory play for toddlers every week so you don't have to.

The kids get to socialise and interact with other kids and you can have a coffee and a catch up with your Mum friends and happily complain about those glorious little toddlers at home antics.

This is literally why I started these classes all those years ago when I was in the throes of new motherhood and I had no idea if any of it was normal. I was so grateful to have my weekly catch ups with other mums who just got it.

Some days I would feel like I didn't want to go, but honestly once I was there I felt a thousand times better.

5 things that we are OBSESSED with in 2026...

1. Community creating - I am feeling the pull to get creative With Friends, are you?? watch this space for how we can do this. (Ideas from you always welcome too!!)

2. Our new pick 'n' mix pots omg they are just too cute!! These are going to be put to such good use in our crafty pick 'n' mix parties plus I think my Art Play Club will absolutely adore them.

3. Art journaling. This is the year for bringing the analogue back and for me this means intentionally spending time away from my phone doing something I love rather than just jobs round the house. If this is something you're working towards too, let's do it together. Art play is better with friends and so is coming off this addictive device!

4. Open ended creativity - this is what Bundabubs Art Play is all about. Freedom to create what you want, in your own style, using the materials that speak to you. This is where imagination thrives and this works best with others - can you spot a common thread here?!

5. Bringing the whimsy. I have to say, I think I already do this but I never had a name for it before. Thanks instagram trend! I'll be sharing more on how I do this for anyone interested in my bi-weekly email journal "Overheard At Art Play".

☀️Why don't you like rules? Because loads of rules puts kids off creating. We have rules to keep everyone safe, but not about how to create.

🩷Can my toddler come to an age 5+ class? No. These classes use art materials that are not suitable to be in curious little toddlers hands. I offer toddler only sessions which are perfect for those exploring and discovering art for the first time. If you have a 4 year old and the class says 5+ get in touch to discuss your options - I have been known to make allowances for 4 year olds.

🔸️Can my older kids come to Toddler Summer Sensory play? Yes they can. Since it's the holidays and I understand that your toddler might be your youngest little artist I will allow older ones to join in, you just need to book them a place and let me know their age to ensure I have enough resources for them.

💫 Why do you have mixed age classes? Because kids get so much out of interactions with older and younger kids than themselves. Art play is not only for 5 year olds, it is for everyone younger and older, up to whatever age they still love creating. It helps kids to make sense of their world being surrounded by kids older or younger than them. More about this on my blog!

❔️Do parents have to stay for the whole class? Yes for toddlers, no for everyone else. Enjoy some me time while your kids are busy creating.

It's 2016, you've just moved to Australia to a little place called Bundaberg. You don't know it yet but your life is about to change forever!

I had the weirdest cravings - cuppa soups and victoria sponge cake!

I spent 2016 growing a human, making friends for life & realising that this is the place we wanted to live forever.

We had visits from family and the best of friends.

We went back to London for weddings & I got to wear a "Baby on Board" badge on the tube, something I'd been dying to do for the previous 3 years.

I turned 30 which, thankfully 2016 was only last year so that means absolutely nothing in 2026. Except that my baby is turning 10!!

I balanced a cup of tea on my belly #iykyk!

Road tripped the East Coast with friends who weren't put off by travelling with someone 8 months pregnant! And went into labour just as we got back to Bundy!

I had a baby boy who would become the reason I started Bundabubs and the reason it is still going now.

This year defined me in many ways and I'll be forever grateful for it and everyone I spent it with.

Our Beachin' Art Play class for under 5s is on this Saturday at the Maker Space @themakerspacefloreat.

It is going to be a very arty intro for little artists and we can't wait!

At Bundabubs we like to do art and play so your child will be able to explore and discover at their own pace in their own time. We love to let them use as much of everything as they feel they need until they are finished.

This session is 1.5 hours so we will have a break in the middle for toilet, drinks and snacks. Please remember the snacks, art play makes kids very hungry!

*your child will take home a painting on canvas, a jar of paint they have mixed themselves and some crafty creations - you might want to bring a bag or box with you to get it all home

Are our final few spots yours?

This Saturday we will be at the Maker Space introducing your little artists to the world of Bundabubs Art Play. This is a place where kids can be kids and explore art in the way it was meant to be done. Discovering by doing. Using art materials like paint brushes, rollers, stamps, glue and stickers, your child will be completely immersed in art play for 1.5 hours!

They will be creating their own colours (to keep!) and a canvas masterpiece that you will want to put straight on the wall!

If you haven't booked already, you can book in at the link in bio. This class is called Beachin' Art Play for Toddlers - kids 5 and under are welcome to attend. If you want to bring your baby to do some art you may need to be the artist while they watch, which could also be fun for you!

Art play is better with friends so don't forget to tell them to book in too!

Kids Christmas Book Advent - Part 1!

We have ended up doing two books a night this year, which has been so nice! The kids love seeing all of the old books again and we have thrown in some new ones this year because I found a whole lot of new (to us!) releases from authors we love!

Our advent bedtime story tradition is truly one of the highlights of our year. It's so cosy, we sit by the Christmas tree all lit up, and we share something we all love so much - reading stories. It's the only time in the day we stop *mumofboys! And even though the kids can read, they still love to be read to ❤️.

Plus we wrap the stories up so they love getting a present a day!

Most of our books have been sourced from Op Shops for a few $ each but this year I did get some new ones from Kmart and Big W too to add to the collection.

That's right, I know the key to my Art Play Club kid's hearts!!

They are all about clay and we haven't been able to get it for weeks!! So they are about to be Soooooo excited and I am about to be their favourite teacher ever!!

Arty advice for the holidays!

When creating, the DOING is the important bit. Let me explain...

Planning to do arts & crafts at home this holiday? Try this:

Set out some things for your kids to use from around the house:
Paper or magazines
Stickers
Cardboard
Glue or washi tap
Scissors
Textas
Maybe throw in some googly eyes for good measure!

Then take a step back. All the way back.

Sit & watch if you want, but try not to say anything. *I hate to be the one to tell you this, but kids already know what to do and you telling them hinders their process. (In my opinion!)

Let your kids enjoy the process of using the materials to make something from their imagination. Don’t worry about the end result - they aren’t.

Kids will use anything you give them so choose mindfully. At the moment art play club are loving boxes of all shapes and sizes - especially mini ones but even a piece of cardboard is different to their normal paper.

Our beachy themed art play class is designed for children aged 5 and older to journey into the world of process art and let their imaginations go wild!

Kids have 3 blissful hours to explore and experiment with sand art, painting, colour mixing, air dry clay and beachy crafts.

For us, the doing is the most important part, not the finished product.

Drop off your child knowing they’re in for an exciting creative journey, and prepare to be amazed at the artistic treasures they’ll proudly bring home.

Join us for a morning of making where your little artist can touch, squish, grab and squeeze anything they can get their hands on!

They will have 1.5 hours to explore painting, mixing colours and beachy themed sensory + art play. They will journey into our happy little world of art play and process art. Hands on and sometimes messy, this class is overflowing with imagination and creative joy.

They will come away from our Toddler Beachin' Art Play class with a painting made by them and some joyful crafts from our gorgeous crafty pick 'n mix.

Parents you will need to stay with you child during this session.

We can't wait to get arty with you!

We had a fab time wrapping and decorating present boxes, so much play squeezed into 45 minutes!!
