Hello there art lovers and beach enthusiasts!
I’m taking a trip down memory lane to the sunny shores of 2022, where it all began with my first group of Beachy Art Players. It feels like just yesterday, but those little artists are now as tall as I am—and boy, do I have some stories to share!
The Origins of My Beachy Art Play Idea
Picture this: an idea bubbling in my head for months, ready to burst into reality. I had no clue if my vision for a beach-themed art class would work, but the only way to find out was to dive right in with real kids, on a real beach. With a nudge from my friends, who graciously offered their kids as the first participants, we set out for an unforgettable adventure.
Imposter Syndrome!
I was SO nervous! I hadn’t taught in a while, and my mind was racing with all the things that could go wrong. Would the kids enjoy it? Could I pull it off? The pressure was real, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. And guess what? The kids taught me so much that day. They understood Beachy Art Play better than I could have imagined and loved the freedom to get creative without strict instructions. Hello, kindred spirits!
One For The Memories
During that first session, everything just clicked. The kids were absorbed in their art, and the beach was filled with laughter and creativity. I realized then that explaining process art to adults was tough because it’s a language kids speak fluently. It was a session where kids could truly be kids, and adults could sit back and enjoy watching their little ones thrive.

I am beyond grateful to those first Beachy Art Players and all who continue to join my classes. Your enthusiasm and joy are what keep me going. To the parents, thank you for trusting me with your precious ones. It’s a privilege to witness their creativity bloom.
And hearing kids still shout, “This is the best day of my life!” during a Beachy Art Play session? That’s the ultimate reward.
