Let Them Play!

Me: Let's make puffy paint paintings. They will be so pretty!

Them: SHAVING FOAM!!!

This is an example of what happens when I have an intention for an art project, but the kids have other ideas!

And this is also why I have a reputation for encouraging mess!!

This time I really thought we would make a beautiful painting of ice creams and cupcakes with delicious Puffy toppings. But then the kids were SO excited and I just couldn't pop their excitement bubble!

So I let them play.

And they played. And played. And played! With foam and glue and paint. Some went on a "painting" some went down the sink.

I'm happy with that!
