When parents ask “what art classes does Bundabubs offer?”, they are usually looking for more than just a list of activities.
They want to know:
Will my child enjoy it?
Will they be able to do it?
Will they come home proud of what they made?
Will it be another class where they are told what to create, or will they actually get to be creative?
At Bundabubs, our art classes are designed around a simple belief: every child is creative. They just need the right environment to explore it. At Bundabubs, our art classes are designed around a simple belief: every child is creative. They just need the right environment to explore it. That's why our art classes across Perth are built around play, not performance.
I’m Gabbie, the founder of Bundabubs, a qualified teacher and lifelong learner who is endlessly curious about creativity, play, child development and how people learn best. My role is not to teach children how to make one “perfect” artwork.
My role is to create the space where they discover what they can do.
A traditional art class often starts with a finished artwork in mind. The teacher demonstrates, children follow along, and everyone creates something similar.
While there is value in learning skills and techniques, this is not the approach I have built Bundabubs around.
At Bundabubs, I teach differently.
Children are encouraged to start with their own ideas. They choose their materials, experiment with different possibilities and explore what happens when they follow their own creativity.
I’m there to guide, support and encourage. I help children think through their ideas and work out what they can create with the materials in front of them.
It is a balance of independence and support.
I always say yes (most of the time!).
For many children, having a space where their ideas are welcomed and encouraged is a completely different experience.
They get to make decisions.
They get to change their mind.
They get to try something that might not work and figure out what to do next.
This is where the real learning happens.

The process matters more than the finished artwork
The artwork that comes home is lovely, but it is only one small part of the experience.
The most valuable moments happen while children are creating.
When they decide where to put something.
When they mix colours and discover something unexpected.
When they make a mistake and find a new way forward.
When they realise “I can do this” without needing someone else to tell them the answer.
Creativity and learning go hand in hand.
When children feel comfortable enough to explore their imagination using the tools in front of them, they are developing problem solving skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
They are learning to trust themselves.
What types of art classes does Bundabubs offer?
Bundabubs offers a range of creative art experiences for children and adults across Perth, all with the same focus: creativity, connection and confidence. Sessions run at Sorrento Beach, Davallia Primary School and The Maker Space in Floreat Forum, across Perth's northern suburbs.

Kids Creative Art Play Club is our signature open-ended art experience.
Designed for children who love creating (and parents who love the idea of creativity without the mess at home!), this weekly session gives children the time, space and freedom to explore.
Children can paint, craft, build and experiment with beautiful art materials without templates or pressure to make the same thing as everyone else.
There is no “right” artwork.
There is no expectation to be naturally artistic.
There is simply time to play, create and discover.
This is perfect for children who enjoy arts and crafts, families looking for screen-free activities, or children who need a creative outlet outside of sport and structured activities.
Our after-school art sessions bring the same process-led approach into a relaxed after-school environment.
Children can unwind after the school day, choose their materials and explore their creativity with guidance nearby.
This is not about producing a perfect artwork after a busy day.
It is about giving children time to slow down, focus, experiment and enjoy creating.
For younger children, art is a way of exploring the world.
Our toddler art play sessions combine creativity, sensory experiences and independent exploration.
Children can touch, experiment, investigate materials and create in their own way while developing confidence and curiosity.
These sessions are not about creating a finished product.
They are about the experience of discovering.
Because art and play belong everywhere, we created Beachy Art Play.
These sessions combine creativity, nature and the freedom of creating outdoors.
Children choose their materials, explore ideas and enjoy the process in a relaxed environment.
The beach becomes part of the experience, giving children space to create, connect and have fun.
Creativity is not something we grow out of.
Our adult sessions are designed for people who want to slow down, reconnect with creativity and enjoy making something without pressure.
Many adults arrive saying they “aren’t artistic” or haven’t painted since childhood.
That is exactly why these sessions exist.
There is no judgement, no expectation and no need to be good at art.
Just time to explore, create and enjoy the experience.
Why Choose Bundabubs for Art Classes in Perth
One thing parents often comment on is how engaged and calm the room feels.
They are surprised by how quietly children can focus when they are given the freedom to explore something meaningful.
This is because children are not just following instructions.
They are making decisions.
They are solving problems.
They are following their own ideas.
I’ve seen this happen many times, including with children who arrive saying “I can’t do it” before they have even started. One child who has attended Bundabubs for around a year used to regularly ask for help before trying anything independently. Over time, with gentle encouragement and support to find their own solutions, I noticed a huge shift. They started trusting themselves and experimenting without needing reassurance. They became more confident in their own ability and that is the kind of growth that happens when children are given the space to create.
Bundabubs is more than an art class
Yes, children paint and make things and come home with artwork. But, the bigger picture is about how in doing these things they build confidence, independence and learn to trust themselves and their own ideas. The materials are simply the invitation. The real magic happens in the process.
